January Favorite Things

Hey everyone!

Happy 2014!  This year has a ton of changes in store for George and I, and I can't wait to see what we have in store.  I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season.  I'm ready to get my butt back in to the gym and back to blogging more often.

To start the month and year off right, Kylie and I are sharing some of our favorite things for January.

(One) Old Navy Women's Poplin Drawstring Lounge Pants Buy here

First of all, can I just give a huge shout out to Old Navy for finally bringing back their sleep pants in tall sizes?  They took them away, but now they're back!  No more "flooding" for this girl! (Plus, they have some SUPER cute patterns out)

(Two) MAC Mineralize skinfinish Powder Check here to possibly find it cheaper

I love this stuff.  I've never been a huge fan of powder, but it is definitely necessary to keep from looking super oily.  This stuff doesn't get cake-y at all.  It has a really velvety finish and gives pretty good coverage.  Some days, I wear extra instead of foundation and it does a great job of staying on. LOVE it!

(Three) Green Mountain Gingerbread K-Cups Buy it here for $0.61/cup

This coffee is what gets me out of bed in the mornings.  I LOVE it. It has a gingerbread flavor without being too strong.  Add some vanilla creamer in it, and you are in HEAVEN.  I need to get another box because I think it may be seasonal and hard to find later.

(Four) Gold Link Stretch Bracelet Buy It Here

I'm a sucker for a versatile (and inexpensive) bracelet.  I love that this one stretches, so you don't have to worry about a clasp, and it fits tiny wrists like mine.  As I'm wearing more and more gold, this is a must have for mixing and matching.

(Five) Vanilla Snowflake Candle Found a few here

This is candle smells like heaven...light vanilla (not overpowering) but also has a "cool" smell to it too. Does that make any sense? It must have a cult following, because it is SO hard to find.  I found a few on Amazon, but you have to pay much more than you would in stores.  I'm praying they bring it back next year.

(Six) Peppermint Mocha Coffee Creamer

I can't believe that I'm having two coffee related favorite things this month...actually I can believe it.  I'm an addict.  This mixed with plain or vanilla bean coffee makes my world go 'round.  IT IS SO GOOD!  I need to stockpile, so I can have some for the next coming months.  I know Coffee-mate makes some that is sold all year, but this is the BEST!

(Seven) Aquaphor Buy It Here

Ok, have I been living under a rock?  How am I just now discovering this stuff?  I used this ALL of the time while I was blowing my nose every 5 minutes.  It keeps your skin from getting chapped and leaves it really soft.  It's perfect to put on your face before a run in the frigid temps.  My face hasn't gotten chapped once!  I love it!

(Eight) Ultramarathon Man by Dean Karnazes Buy It Here

I read this before my marathon and I truly think it made a difference in my whole mindset.  There is a point where he is literally crawling to the finish line.  I kept thinking, "If he can crawl, I can at least do this thing sick."  It is a great, quick and easy read that gets you motivated!

Alright, that's all I have!  Link up below!

  1. Love flavored creamers. It makes me feel like I'm at Starbucks when I don't want to leave my own house :)

  2. Those lounge pants look so comfy. If I wasn't on a spending freeze I would totally buy that candle ASAP. It is going on my list once the freeze is lifted. :) I am so going to try that Peppermint Mocha creamer though, yum!! Happy Friday!

  5. Aquaphor is the best. I love it for elbows in the winter. Also it is what my favorite tattoo artist recommends using after you get a tattoo while your skin is still healing. I swear by it for that too! Good stuff!

  6. I've had Ultramarathon Man on my list for a while. Sounds like a good one!

  7. I love that bracelet! The elastic band is genius. It's so hard trying to hook a bracelet yourself! I'll have to be on the look out for that candle. Sounds perfect for the cold days we've been having. I'm so glad to hear Old Navy has long PJ pants! Mine are all way too short but I wear them anyways!

  8. I love ON pajama pants - they're my favorite! I got the vanilla snowflake candle and am going to burn it for the first time today. It smells delicious just from the jar!
    Have a good one!

  9. I just got some ON PJ pants for Christmas! Love them! Your not the only one who apparently has been living under a rock because I've never heard of Aquaphor! My poor husband was so sick last week he would have loved that stuff! Definitely putting that on my shopping list! :)

  10. Love this list! I'll have to mark that MAC powder down when I run out of my current powder. I got some Old Navy pants but they were worn looking after I wore them once, so I took them back and they let me exchange them for fleece pants. Not as cute but definitely comfy! Have a great weekend! P.S. My kids all have ezcema and Aquaphor is the only thing that relieves it! I hear the Target brand is just as good too. Hope you found your cupcake chapstick! I was hoping it would be on your list :)

  14. Great linkup! I'm not a coffee drinker {double that since I'm preggers right now!} but I do love using different kinds of teas in my Keurig and also cider for the cold weather. I am planning to run a half marathon next January, so you are definitely an inspiration to me with how much you run! I don't know if I'll ever make it to a full...but I'd be happy and proud with half!

  16. I am BEYOND obsessed with peppermint mocha creamer. I am always so sad when they stop carrying it in stores :( And Aquaphor changed my life when I realized I could use it on my cuticles that get so cracker during the winter. Good stuff, girlie! Xo

  17. Both my boys have extremely dry and sensitive skin and I put Aquaphor on their cheeks on the daily! Although, fyi, the Target brand is pretty decent and is of course cheaper :)

  18. I did not know about Old Navy's tall PJ pants, thank you! I had just given up buying PJ pants there because they were alwayssss too short. Thanks!

  19. Haha I literally laughed out loud when I read the word flooding! I haven't heard it in years! That candle seems lille it would smell amazing! I will have to keep an eye out for it for next year. I used aquaphor on my eyes when I had my eyeliner tattooed on and it was a life saver to prevent them from cracking!

  20. I saw that gingerbread coffee at my Target today and debated for a long time whether I should buy it. I hate being disappointed about my food though. haha

  23. Ah! I missed this month, dang it! This winter flu has me in a time warp.

I am going to have to check out this book. I have decided this is the year of the marathon for me so I will take all the mindset help I can get!

    Happy New Year!
