My Christmas Wish List

Hey all!

I've been super busy lately between trips back and forth to Indy (I still work every once in a while in the ER back home).  My poor mama also broke her ankle and tore her ACL when some turd knocked her down, so I've been hanging out with her a lot after her ankle surgery.

Anyways, I thought I'd share a few things on my Christmas wish list.  I had a really hard time coming up with a list this year.  I feel like I have a lot of what I need, and the things that I want are mostly baby things, haha.

So here it is:

1.) Gap Super Soft Leggings in Gray Buy it here

I can still wear my pre-pregnancy leggings, but the waist band can be a bit uncomfortable.  I like how maternity leggings typically have a wider waistband, so they don't cut into your sides.  This pair from the Gap has gotten rave reviews, and they typically always have awesome online coupons.

2.) Most Talkative: Stories from the Front Lines of Pop Culture buy it here

I'm a huge Andy Cohen fan.  He produces the Real Housewives, and Watch What Happens Live is one of my favorite shows.  I know that his new book just came out, but I figured I'd get caught up and read his first one.

3.) Liz Lange Maternity Pullover Sweater Buy it here

Ok, first of all...these are on sale for $13 right now.  I'll take one in every color.  Bonus: it's long enough to cover that pregnant booty, so you can wear it with leggings and boots, and you're good to go.

4.) Benefit: They're Real Mascara Buy it here

I'm a HUGE fan of this mascara, but it is on the pricier side.  I feel like I go through mascara fairly quickly, so I end up needing a lot of it.  When I don't feel like shelling out the money, I go for drugstore...but it's just not the same.  My lashes are ready to have this stuff back!

5.) Super Soft Crew Neck Maternity Tee Buy it here

I'm in LOVE with these shirts from Gap.  They're super soft, give enough stretch for a growing belly, but are thin enough to layer.  I don't like scoop or v necks in the winter, so this crew neck is just perfect.

6.) Peace for Pits Donation Check Them Out Here

I follow Peace for Pits on Facebook, and these little faces just get me every time.  They do a lot of work with pulling dogs from Chicago Animal Care and Control, which is very high kill and crowded. These people do amazing things for pit bulls and need all the help they can get.

7.) Lush Bath Bomb buy it here

We have a big beautiful bathtub, complete with TV, and I've only used it once.  I have a feeling that as I become more rotund, I'll enjoy baths more and more.  These bath bombs make your skin super soft and don't stain your tub.  No one wants a heavy clean up job after a bath!

8.) The Terrible and Wonderful Reasons Why I Run Long Distances buy it here

I'm a HUGE fan of the Oatmeal, and his comic on running was absolutely amazing.  I've read it several times.  Check it out here.  I'm super excited to see an entire book of this!

9.) Women's Rollover-Waist Jersey Lounge Pants in Tall buy it here

These look SO comfy, and I'm always trying to find lounge pants that are long enough.  These come in petite, regular, and tall.  The rollover waist looks perfect for pre or post baby, and I'm sure I'll end up owning these in every color.

So that's all I have for today.  What is on your Christmas list?

So...Pregnancy.....

It has seriously been forever since I've posted, but I SWEAR I'll get back on a somewhat more normal schedule. I had my anatomy scan today, and I found out...

We are beyond thrilled to have another little girl in the house (yes, Gracie counts).  Poor George will be so outnumbered, but I know that this little one already has her dad wrapped around her little finger.

I have so so so much stuff to post, so I'm thinking of just catching you up until now, which is 21 weeks. So I've been keeping very irregular "Bumpdates" pregnancy updates, but here's what I've got so far.

5 WEEKS

How Far Along? 5 weeks

Size of Baby: Apple Seed

Gender: Wait, there’s a baby inside me, and it’s going to be a girl or boy?

Weight Gain: Nothing

Maternity Clothes: Not even close, but I do feel like I’m growing a pretty sweet muffin top.

Nursery: Haven’t even thought about it

Movement: Not even close.

Symptoms: Kind of crampy sometimes.  Crazy after dinner heartburn that wraps up around my left shoulder and neck. Hurts to breathe in.  Odd.

Sleep: Depending on my heartburn situation, pretty well.

Cravings: None really, but hungrier than normal.

What I Miss:  Nigiri…fo’sho.

Best Moment This Week: Telling my parents the news.

Looking Forward To: Getting my follow up blood work to make sure the baby is growing and my hormone levels are rising.  I’m a little neurotic.

9 Weeks

How far along: 9 Weeks

Baby Size: Green Olive

Weight gain: Was down a few pounds last week, haven’t weighed myself

Maternity clothes: No way

Stretch marks: With my luck… probably. But actually no.

Sleep: Sleeping like a baby

Gender: I totally think it’s a girl

Movement: Too early

Best moment this week: Having a few vomit-free days.

Looking forward to: Getting out of the freaking first trimester.  I just want to be able to eat.

Food cravings: None…wait, does Zofran count?

Anything making you queasy or sick: Everything.  Mostly the smell of our refrigerator (which no one else smells except me).  A few days ago, I walked past it, got a whiff (door was closed) and immediately started vomiting.  Ridiculous…

Labor Signs: No

What I miss: Eating and drinking

Symptoms: Extreme nausea, vomiting, and overall feeling like crap

Nursery: Haven’t even thought about it

Belly Button in or out? In, but surrounded by muffin top

Wedding rings on or off? On

Mood: Anxious to feel better, nervous about being one of those pregnant ladies that feels like this their entire pregnancy.

11 Weeks

How far along: 11 Weeks

Baby Size: Lime

Weight gain: +1 pound

Maternity clothes: No, but doing the rubber band trick with my jeans.  They’re a little tight when sitting

Stretch marks: No, but I honestly haven’t been looking

Sleep: Waking up to pee once a night, but falling back asleep immediately

Gender: I’m 98% that it’s a girl

Movement: Can’t wait for this

Best moment this week: My nuchal translucency scan.  Seeing the baby kicking and moving its little arms was amazing.  They also were able to try out some new, super HD ultrasound machine out on me.  I got some great pictures.

Looking forward to: Getting out of the freaking first trimester.  I’m ready to be that ravenous pregnant lady.

Food cravings: None really.

Anything making you queasy or sick: The smell of the fridge and garage make me nauseous.  Having really good days mixed with some bad days.  It is thankfully getting better.

Labor Signs: No

What I miss: Running

Symptoms: Nausea and fatigue

Nursery: Pinning a few ideas on my secret Pinterest board

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On

Mood: Feeling happier that I’m having some good days.  Loving hearing the baby’s heartbeat at appointments.

12 Weeks

13 Weeks

George and I went to Mexico with some of our friends from Indy.  We had such a great time!

This is me pretending to be unhappy about being the pregnant beer mule. :)

14 Weeks

Yup..in my PJs.  No shame.

17 Weeks

How far along: 17 Weeks

Baby Size: Onion?

Weight gain: Ummm….I’d prefer not  to say L

Maternity clothes: I broke down and bought a couple of shirts.  I’m starting to have a bit of a “riding up” problem

Stretch marks: Not that I know of

Sleep: Bought a Snoogle, but it’s so hard to roll over.  Sleeping OK.

Gender: Long story short, thought it was a girl, then was told it was a boy (by a few techs that were just guessing at 12 weeks), looked at work and am convinced it’s a girl again.  AH!

Movement: If I eat something sugary, I’ll feel a tiny little kick or something. Usually only once or twice a day if I’m sitting or laying completely still

Best moment this week: Realizing that I MAY be done throwing up. *knocks on wood

Looking forward to: Not being in that awkward, “is she chunky or pregnant?” phase

Food cravings: Something sugary helps my nausea

Mood: Feeling happy, but tired.  I’m always looking forward to feeling a little kick.

18 Weeks

Dressed the bump up for a charity event

19 Weeks

George and I took his parents to Arizona for their 40th wedding anniversary.  We both enjoyed the warm weather, and I loved running on the beautiful trails.

Virgin prickly pear margarita...delicious!

How precious are they?

21 Weeks

How Far Along? 21 weeks

Size of Baby: 14 oz

Gender: GIRL!!!

Weight Gain: Yes…. Technically “on track” but not happy about it

Maternity Clothes: Maternity shirts for sure, but still wearing non maternity jeans and leggings. Jeans work if they’re unbuttoned and unzipped, so I have to wear a long shirt. J

Stretch marks: None as of yet, but my mom said she got a few in month 7.  I’ll be on the look out!

Nursery: Starting to get the ball rolling. I have a few strong ideas pinned on Pinterest

Movement: Lots of kicks and punches.  She is pretty active!

Symptoms: Nothing! I’m feeling great! So happy to be able to run again.

Sleep: Sleeping well most nights, some nights are harder because my hips will go so numb that they hurt.

Cravings: Fresh fruits and veggies.  Lots of clementines, celery, and carrots.

What I Miss:  Being “in shape”

Best Moment This Week: Finding out the gender at my anatomy scan.  It was so awesome to see our baby girl moving around.  I have a really cute picture of a yawn.

Looking Forward To: The holidays! Christmas time is a little more fun knowing that next year, we will have a little baby.

She's pretty cute already, right?

So I'm hoping to do some fun Christmas decorating and gift giving posts.  So, if you're all baby'd out... there are other things coming your way.

That's all for now!
