December Favorite Things

Hey everyone!

It's officially the Christmas season, and I'm actually getting into the Christmas spirit.  Today, Kylie and I are sharing some of our favorite things for December in our second monthly linkup.  So, let's get to it! Here are my December favorite things.

1.) Bath and Body Works Gingerbread Soap   Buy It Here

I fell in love with this stuff last year.  It has the warmest, yummiest, gingerbread scent.  It's not overpowering, but leaves the sweet scent on your hands just long enough to enjoy it.

2.) Sally Henson Gel Polish in "Pat on the Black"   Buy It Here

Every since I have started doing my own gel nails (tutorial here), I have been using this same color every two weeks.  It is the perfect deep purple color.  If you use thinner coats, it has more of a red color (as seen on my tutorial), or if you put it on thick, it's nearly black.  I love it, and it stays on wonderfully.

3.) Banana Nut Cheerios   Buy It Here

These taste JUST like banana bread.  It is definitely a go-to if I'm craving something sweet after I get off work at night.  They also have a cinnamon flavor that is delicious to mix with these. :)

4.) Benefit- It's Potent Eye Cream   Try a mini size for $8.50 here!

This stuff really IS potent.  I received a sample size in my Birchbox almost a year ago.  I wasn't really big on eye creams, because I thought they were all for anti-aging.  One day, that I was looking particularly hag-ish, I thought I'd give it a try.  As the weather gets colder, and I'm out in the sun less, my skin is becoming fairer.  My dark circles show up BAD.  All I have to do is dot this stuff under my eyes, and they're gone like magic in 15 minutes.  This is my favorite find for the month.

5.) Flip Belt   Buy It Here

I'm in love with this thing.  When I try to explain it to people, they say, "so like an elastic fanny pack?" Not exactly.  This stows my running snacks, phone, key, headphones, etc.  It is an elastic tube that looks like the fold over part of yoga pants.  There are slits in the sides to easily access your stuff.  Bonus: It also keeps your phone close to your body and prevents it from freezing in the cold.

6.) Elf Eyebrow Gel   Buy It on Amazon

I have crazy eyebrows.  They truly have a mind of their own, so I needed something to keep them all straight and uniform.  I picked up this e.l.f. eyebrow gel and clear mascara (I use both for eyebrows) at Target for ONE DOLLAR.  Yes!

7.) Cetaphil Cleanser   Buy It Here

My face has been freaking out lately, so I'm only using Cetaphil cleanser and lotion.  I love it for the colder months because it doesn't strip all of your oils off your face.  It takes a few weeks to get used to, but now that I've been using it every day, I love it.

8.) Puffy Vests   Buy It Here

I HATE shopping in my big winter coat.  I can't dive for sales and elbow people out of the way (kidding) while doing my Christmas shopping in a big coat.  Vests keep you warm, but leave your arms free to carry stuff.  They're also super cute and comfortable.  The vest pictured above is from Old Navy.

Grab our button on my sidebar and link up with us!  It will be open for one week, and we would LOVE to hear what your favorite things are.

  1. I got a gel manicure for the first time this weekend and wow, why have I not done one sooner?!! I may have to start doing them at home like you do because I see it getting pretty expensive to maintain!

  2. I did my FIRST at home gel manicure last night and I'm in LOVE!!! It will be very hard to pay someone else to do it - when I have basically already recouped my cost!! I have had the puffer vest in my "cart" for two weeks now - I think it may be time to just buy it!! Great post!!

    1. Exactly, once you do it yourself, you're hooked. I say you treat yourself and buy that vest! :)

  3. Does the Sally Hanson gel stuff work well? So far, my best at home gel polish is actually with the Nail-Aid Almost Gel polish I got at Walmart. I put one base coat of it on the nail and then a coat of my polish, then like three coats on top of the gel. The bottle is like $8 and I love it.

    1. Yes! It has really stayed on so well for me. I do use the Gelish top and base coats, so I don't know if that makes a difference.

  5. That Cetaphil cleanser is hands down the best cleanser I have ever used! I can't get enough out it! I have one in my bathroom, one in the shower, and a travel one! You can't beat the price also!

That flip belt looks interesting! I have never seen anything like that. I bet it works well! It's one of those "why didn't I think of that?" products. Love all your favorite things! :)

  7. I have wanted to try the at home gel manicure for a LONG time. Now it looks like its time to try it out! My husband may not love me linking up to the favorites blog post. Because I have found at least one thing on EVERY blog I have looked at! :)

    1. It's seriously super easy. I would never pay to have someone do them for me again. You make your money back in the first few times you do them at home. There are a few things that you have to be careful about, but mine usually last as long, if not longer when I do them myself. I have a DIY Gel Nails tutorial on my blog. Let me know if you have any questions! :)

  11. I'm so glad to know you did a tutorial on the gel nails! I was eying that stuff just the other day at CVS trying to decide whether to give it a try. I love the gel nail look, but can't handle the expense right now.

  12. I just might have to try that eye cream! I have the same issue with dark circles in the winter and being so light skinned. Sometimes I use a concealer but I don't always feel like spending the time to put it on. :) Great idea with the puffy vest instead of coats when shopping! Thanks for hosting such a fun linkup! :)
