So, here we go!
1.) Protein/Dip Nails
O. M. G. Maybe these are old news where you live, but in Indy, they are a hit. They're a mix between acrylic and gel. The nail tech paints your nails with something, dips them in pink and white powder (several times each), and then he or she puts some sort of gel coat on top. They don't get yellow in the sun, so they are perfect for Vacation.
2.) C Wonder
I stumbled upon this store on accident. It is new in Indy, and I seriously can't get enough. The best way that I can describe it is as a mix between Lilly Pulitzer and J. Crew. They sell a ton of monogram ready accessories for your house and some of the cutest jewelry ever. This place is dangerous.
3.) Real Simple Magazine
George got me a subscription, and I read it cover to cover the day I get it in the mail. This magazine has a ton of organizing tips, recipes, and articles. It's so cheap to get a year subscription.
4.) Happily Grey
If you're on Pinterest, you've definitely seen some pictures from Happily Grey. This is by far, one of my favorite fashion blogs, and her fall looks are my favorite. Check out her blog here.
5.) Orange Is the New Black
If you have Netflix and aren't opposed to a little crude material, you really need to check it out. Each episode ends with a serious cliff hanger, so I would start watching these when you have some time on your hands. George and I couldn't watch just one, and I'm already dying for the second season.
Ok, I will admit, at first I thought that this stuff was disgusting. These are tablets that turn 16 oz of water into a sports drink minus any dehydrating sugars. It is pretty salty tasting, but if you mix it with exactly 16 oz and chug it, it's not so bad. I didn't drink it before a 10 miler this morning, and I could tell the difference.
To be fair, I haven't actually received my first box yet. BUT... from what I've seen from the previous boxes, they are much better than Birchbox. I got really fed up with getting eye creams and tea bags with Birchbox, and Ipsy seems like the products will be much more usable. Maybe I'll do a posts with reviews of the goodies I get?
8.) Eyelash Extensions
I have major FOMO (Fear of Missing Out). So many of the nurses that I work with have started getting these, and I had to have some of my own! Normally, these are a little pricey, but a woman on the south side of Indy opened up the Lash Studio and the prices are very reasonable. It takes a LONG time for the first session, about two hours, but the touchups after are shorter. At first, I thought they looked goofy, but as I've worn them, I've gotten a little more used to them. I also feel like I don't have to wear other eye makeup with them, so I guess you could call them a time saver?
So, that is all I have for now.
