Runnin' and Bloggin'

Hello everyone!  It's Friday, and I'm going to make this 5 on Friday quick and dirty!



Tomorrow is the Fort 4 Fitness half marathon, and I'm a good mix of nervous and excited. This is not only my FIRST half marathon, but I will be meeting some other awesome bloggers like Mama Laughlin, Skinny Meg, Mel from 4Kottez Runs It, Holly from Where We Can Live Like Jack and Sally, and more.  These were some of the very first blogs that I read, so I'm really pumped to meet everyone.

About the race: My last run was beyond terrible, so I'm hoping I can pull my shiz together and finish this beast strong! I'm going to try to plan out my pace and stick to it.  (NOT going all Pocahontas and spring through the woods like I did here.)  It's supposed to be pretty toasty, but Im hoping that I can beat the heat.  Highs in the 80's.
 George has a bum knee, so he's doing the 10k, but I know he's going to rock it!  The race is in Ft. Wayne and ends inside a baseball stadium!  Your last .1 mile, you run around the bases and cross the finish line at home plate. How fun!
*Side note: George asked if he could slide into home plate/finish line :)


I keep track of all of my runs on Dailymile. Who else is on there? I've been nominated for a Liebster award by some fabulous bloggers!  How exciting!  I'm working on going through the questions and compiling the post.  Expect it to be up in the next couple weeks.


How in the heck do I create an RSS feed?  I've been tossing the idea of joining BlogHer (thoughts on that anyone?), but I need to set up an RSS feed first.  I've tried to read a few tutorials, but I'm seriously still not understanding this.  Does anyone out there know of a good tutorial?


Are you a "no-reply blogger?"  I try to reply to all of the comments you guys leave me, but it's so frustrating when some don't have their emails attached to their comments.  Take a second to check out THIS awesome tutorial by Venus Trapped in Mars.  She walks you through the super simple steps of fixing this problem!

  1. I don't know what RSS even means?! I'm just trying to always do a daily post! I've heard of BlogHer but haven't checked it out. I'm pretty clueless when it comes to blog stuff, can you tell?! Good luck with your half marathon and how fun you're meeting some of your favorite bloggers!!

  3. Good luck on the race! I'm sure you'll do great, and we both know even with George's bum knee he'll finish with a crazy fast time :) I love Daily Mile! One of my favorite things is putting in my workout. Makes me feel so accomplished to see that little line go up. Also, I think BlogHer is a good idea just to get a bit more exposure. I've gotten a few posts featured, which has been cool. I don't think I'm using it to its full potential, but it wouldn't hurt to join. I don't remember how I did the RSS feed, so I'm no help. I don't remember it being too confusing, though, so maybe you're just trying to make it harder than it actually is? I don't know.

  4. I used Feed Burner for my RSS. And from there you have the option to export it to a CSV file. Hope that helps.
